Municipal Waste Recycling
This equipment line is responsible for the pre-processing of source separated organics at an installation located in western Canada. Komptech Ontario supplied the stationary shredding & pre-process screening machinery, all auxilliary equipment including conveyors and controls and managed the integration of the system in to the existing facility. The customer partnered with us on this project based on their previous experience with Komptech Ontario and the success they have had using our systems and solutions.
Municipal Landfill
This municipal compost facility is operated by a waste management industry leader and handles all leaf and yard waste for a large Ontario city. After using a grinder for many years, they now utilize our dual shaft Crambo 6000 mobile shredder with track drive at the front end of their process.
They chose to change their process in order to reduce the downtime and maintenance costs they had been experiencing with the grinder. In this application, the shredder offers more flexibility and tolerates contaminants better. We would be pleased to assist you to determine whether you should consider shredding, grinding (or in some cases both) to achieve the best ROI in your application!
Organics Waste Processing - Compost Production Facility
Despite starting with heavily contaminated feedstock, Komptech machines help this Canadian recycling leader produce the highest quality compost. What started as source separated organic waste (SSO- including food, leaf & yard waste), ultimately becomes finished material which passes the most stringent requirements. It is then bagged and ultimately returned to the earth by gardeners, landscapers and farmers. The system at this site utilizes Komptech shredders, windrow turners, screeners and separators (to remove plastic contaminants).
The resulting reduction in landfill and the lowering of methane gas emissions helps us all!
Waste Wood Processing
Recycling waste wood is another great way to reduce the amount of material being sent to landfill sites. Waste wood from a wide variety of sources is consolidated at this privately owned and operated facility. They produce a range of finished goods including wood chips, mulch and animal bedding.
In this video, their Komptech shredder is being loaded with bulk wood, the shredded material is then conveyed in to the Komptech Multistar screening machine for processing in to different sizes. This material will then become finished goods OR be sent for further processing to create other products.
